Speaking
Priti is an experienced educator and trilingual (English, French, Hindi) speaker who tailors each presentation through fun interactive sessions. She can do up to four daily presentations at the same school. As the author of a picture book and an early reader chapter book series, Priti can offer a vast range of workshops for kindergarten through grade 3 students.
She will gladly collaborate with teachers and librarians to customize visits to meet the children’s interests and the teachers’ curriculum requirements. Students and staff have the option to order personalized, signed books which will be delivered to their school. Priti can provide ordering instructions.
Priti has presented in English or French to the following organizations - Albert College, Bayview Glen Independent School, The Country Day School, Ecole Primaire Jean-Grou, Harwood Public School, Kingsway College School, Ottawa Catholic School Board, St. John’s Kilmarnock School, Uxbridge Public School, The Wardlaw+Hartridge School, and Wilson Avenue Public School.

The grade one students and staff at our school loved meeting Mrs. Maheshwari and learning more about her new TD Grade One Giveaway Book Chaiwala! Students were full of interesting questions after her book reading and delighted to learn more about the history of the tea drinking ritual portrayed in the story. The workshop to design and create teacups of their own was such fun for our classes and they really enjoyed finding out all about the author's inspiration for the book through her informative slideshow and examining an array of aromatic spices. Having their own copies of Chaiwala! signed by the author was exciting and made for wonderful keepsakes of their visit to reread at home.

We had the pleasure of welcoming Priti for a virtual Chaiwala! session. She engaged grade one classes with age appropriate background knowledge along with images, videos and stories of her personal experiences in India. She made connections between her visits to India and how they influenced her book. She provided the audience with opportunities to ask questions and responded to them in meaningful ways. Priti’s read aloud of her book was interactive as she incorporated sounds from the train station that went beautifully with her words and the art of Ashley Barron.
