Priti Birla Maheshwari was born in India and moved to Montreal and then to Toronto with her family. She graduated from the University of Toronto, majoring in French and then completed her Association Montessori International (AMI) CASA training. She then moved to the United States where she completed a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Cleveland State University. Priti went on to teach at Princeton Montessori and then the Red Oaks School in New Jersey.

She moved back to Canada in 2009 and taught French at St. John’s-Kilmarnock in Breslau, Ontario for 12 years. Her first book Chaiwala! was published in 2021 and won multiple awards. Since then she has focused on her writing. She also supply teaches, tutors and gives virtual and in-person presentations to students at schools across Canada and the United States. She has a chapter book series entitled Queen Bee coming out - the first four books will be available in fall, 2024 and the next four books will be released in 2025. Priti is married and has a daughter in University.
